Uploading Documents
Drooms provides several convenient methods for uploading documents, i.e., files (and even folders) into Drooms data rooms, to best fit different work tasks. Some of them are standard features, some on-demand features, and all require that you are either an administrator or have the necessary permissions for the respective parent folders or affected index points:
- Uploading single files
There are various ways to upload single files to the data room:- The most simple one is to simply drag and drop a file into the index at the desired index position. This will trigger the ‘Upload files/folders’ upload method, see below.
- You can also upload a single file as an e-mail attachment, see below.
- Also possible is to use the index allocation or auto allocation features to just allocate a single file, see below.
- However, you can also use the index context menu options ‘Create document’ and ‘Edit index point’ to particularly create or edit specific single index points and upload documents to them to fine-tune your index and data room content.

- Uploading files and folders
If you want to upload not just multiple documents, but also complete, ready file/folder structures directly 1:1 from your local directory or network and place them in your data room, use the ‘Upload files/folders’ batch upload feature. - Uploading files via e-mail
When you come across files during your daily work, which should end up in your data room, but do not want to start Drooms each time, you can send them simply as e-mail attachments to the data room ‘Inbox’ folder, and then move and place them in the index, where they best fit, the next time you enter Drooms.-> Read more about uploading files via e-mail
- Uploading and allocating files via Index Allocation
The on-demand ‘Index Allocation’ feature allows to upload and allocate pre-indexed files to dedicated, matching index points throughout the data room in many different places at once with 100% certainty.
