Saving and Downloading Documents
Following file formats are converted for online display within the data room: standard .pdf, .png, .jpg, .tif, .tiff, .gif, .txt, .rtf, .xls, .xlsx, .doc., .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .ods, .odt, .odp, .htm, .html. These can be printed as watermarked .pdf files. Documents with other file formats must be downloaded by the user to open and print them locally with the appropriate third-party software, which requires save permissions.
- After signing in to Drooms, select the desired project and data room (in projects with multiple data rooms). Then select the ‘Documents’ tab in the project’s tab bar, if it is not already selected.
- If you have selected a document in the index and are viewing it in the document viewer, you can use the ‘Save’ option in the document viewer’s floating tool bar to save it, if permitted, or alternatively the corresponding right-click index context menu option ‘Download’.
Single native files (without watermark requirement) are downloaded directly via your browser.
- You can also select multiple documents and folders in the index, in which case all selected and saveable documents can be downloaded together using the right-click index context menu ‘Download’ option.
- In any other case than just saving a single native file without watermark, Drooms will create a batch download .zip file containing all files to be saved, which is then provided under ‘Downloads’ (download icon at the top right) where it can be downloaded, and then unpacked to save the contained files locally.
Creating the overall batch download .zip file can take a while, because of which Drooms will notify you also by e-mail, once the .zip file is ready for download.
