Renumbering Index Points

When working in a data room, ‘index gaps’ may result from deleting folders and index points, or may be needed to add further folders and index points in between index points, so that these are not automatically renumbered.

To renumber folders and index points in order to either close index index gaps, or create them on purpose, proceed as follows:

  • After signing in to Drooms, select the project and data room where you want to renumber index points.

  • Select ‘Documents’ in the project’s and data room’s tab bar to access the data room index, and open the index context menu with a right mouse click onto the folder, whose index points you want to renumber.

  • Select the ‘Edit’ sub-menu option ‘Renumber’ to open the ‘Renumber Index Points’ modal dialog.

  • Define the interval for renumbering the index points and whether only the selected folder’s first sub-level index points should be renumbered, or the complete sub-tree, i.e., all contained sub-items.

With an interval of 1 the sub-items will be renumbered consecutively as .1, .2, .3, etc., closing all gaps. With an interval of 3 for example, the sub-items will be renumbered to .1, .4, .7, etc., creating gaps.

Please note that only complete folder sub-levels can be renumbered. It is not possible to select a folder or index point and then renumber only the consecutive index points.

  • Click on ‘Renumber’ to confirm the renumbering action.
